Just when you think you're ready

You stop dead in your tracks

Rethinking the whole ordeal

Is this what you want?

Is this the best for you?

Something happens that doesn’t rub you the right way

But at the same time you want to push forward

Take a chance

Follow this direction

But it's such a change of pace

A change from what you're used to

Is it worth it?

Is the time right?

Are you sure?

Can you be sure about anything?

No

So why not just try it out

Does it make you grin?

Or are you just trying something

That you know will have a quick end?

My pickiness stops me in my tracks

I turn around to walk away

But I don’t budge

Because something makes we want to go back

Something new

Something different

Something exciting

Something spectacular

Is that what this is?

Or maybe what it could be?

So I just stand here and wait

And let all of this newness come to me

If I am to follow

Then it will grasp me

And pull me in the right direction
