Leighton Meester

Since I wrote about Blake Lively it felt only natural to write about her co-star, Leighton Meester. Just as their characters, Serena Van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf, are constantly compared in Gossip Girl so are they in real life. Especially when it comes to how they dress. Leighton Meester has a much more personal style than Blake Lively and whereas Blake scores points for elegance Leighton gets many raised eyebrows. Leighton can be said to be a bit inconsistent. Sometimes she looks really good and other times you just wonder what the hell she is wearing. If nothing else it is good for sheer entertainment value.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively who plays it-girl, Serena Van der Woodsen, on Gossip Girl is a media darling in real life. She is a highlight on any red carpet and the designers are most likely bending over backwards to get her to wear their clothes. No matter if it is she herself or more commonly a talented stylist who chooses the outfits the result is nothing short of stunning.

Gossip Girl

I have a guilty pleasure. Gossip Girl. The characters are somewhat onedimensional and the plot is over the top so say the least but I suppose that is why it is so delicious. It's fifty minutes of empty calories. Watching beautiful people has never hurt and watching beautiful designer clothes aren't too bad either. I really dig the clothes the actors are wearing and I find the style inspirational and heart quickening.


Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle are two other splendid reasons to watch Gossip Girl. Both are easy on the eyes and they have killer chemistry.



Watch out Upper East Side. I'm coming to conquer you.
